The trademark is a countersign, which has the shape of a exaggerated comma.
It is made with stroke of the brush in a turquoise colour, and it is
commonly called 'nail'.
This countersign is used by most of the majolica producers in the Lodi area
and by some in the Milan area as well.
Its use dates back to 1700 when all the ceramic craftsmen began to use the
'nail mark' which became the signature of the production area.
Since Ferretti, the ceramic craftsman famous for the 'Vecchia Lodi'
decoration style, started to use it, it became the logo of 'Vecchia Lodi'
itself.
Moreover, from April 2001, the Officer of the Provincial Committee for the
Artcrafts in Lodi has accepted the 'Vecchia Lodi' subscription into the
register of the artistic and traditional ceramics.
This means that 'Vecchia Lodi' obtained the DOC mark becoming the 1st
company of the register.
That's why we are the first 'D.O.C.' ceramics producers in Lombardia.
